My first time..... attending a Gavin concert, that is :)
YAY!!! I just came back from my first "Gavin" concert and I have to say that I was not disappointed. It was well worth the wait and waking up early and running to get tix (second row, baby!!
Marie Digby was the opening act and she was pretty good. I've heard a couple of her songs before and she sounds just like the radio.
Afterwards, I could not wait for Gavin to come on stage. It seemed like everyone was getting excited and couldn't sit still. You could feel the energy. He opened up with "Relative" and after that the whole concert was mesmerizing. He was so good to his fans and even walked into the crowds to give everyone an opportunity to see him up close and personal.
The concert only got better as it went along. He performed songs from "Chariot" and his self-titled album, plus he sang "Never the Same." It was so much fun. His band is awesome, too!
After the show, we were able to meet him and get autographs and as most of his fans know, he is super patient and very fan friendly. I was so surprised that I was even able to speak, but when I did, I even made him laugh and yes, that was my intention;) He asked if I enjoyed myself and I said, "Yeah, I had so much fun that I lost my voice!!" He laughed and said that that is definitely one way to know you had fun (but I guess that's what happens when I sing along, scream, and cheer, right?) That was a priceless moment that I'll never forget.
It was such a great experience and he was and is such a great performer. I can't wait until I get to see him in concert again.
Until then, I'll listen to him on the radio, in my car, on my mp3 player, and any other way that I can get my Gavin-fix.
