Today I made a list
Of things that make me smile
Siimple everyday pleasures
That make this life worthwhile.

I thought of a good hard laugh
That pushes my troubles away.
I guess I could live without laughing
And accept my life as gray.

I thought of a delicous meal
With satisfaction in every bite.
I guess I could settle for bland.
And go to bed hungry every night.

Of course I thought of music
And the songs that reach my heart.
I guess I could get used to silence
And the lonliness it does impart.

Thank God for simple pleasures
That life affords you and me
I guess we could live without them
But what kind of life would that be?
