I saw gavin last night and I loved the new bad and the variety he gave to all the songs. Sounded great, but I am not suprised!! I love his brother Joeys music too! It looked like Spencer Pratt joined the band too, ha ha just jokin! He sure looked like him though. Everything and everyone was great! Can,t wait til the next time I see him, four is just not enough! big fan Stefanie!!
Hey, gotta love Gavin without the hat! He was absolutely incredible!! The Park West is an awesome venue, I'm glad he booked it. What else can I say........Gavin, you have put my faith back into a music industry that is soooooo lacking true, intelligent, melodic, insightful talent. God Bless You!
Gavin's 4/15 show was the second GDG show experience for my wife and I (we saw him on a star filled outdoor headline act in Naperville, IL last fall). As much as I'd like to say I was "dragged" to this show by my wife I have to say I really enjoy his music and look forward to his live performance. Gavin is pure talent, an incredible song writier and has a passion for his craft; it always shows when he steps on stage. This was a more stripped down performance than we've seen but brought us closer to his music; the Park West is probably the best venue you could pick for this performance. Warmup act by Gavin's bro was also a real treat. It was really funny how they simply walked onstage guitars in hand from the back of the venue and sat down and started playing. Honey Honey was a nice suprise as well and a very talented duo. Overall, great time had by all!
OK, for those distracted during his masterful performance at the Park West, here's some homework:
Gavin is inspired by some of my favorite artists and he mentioned one of them during the performance, Dave Mason (he mentioned it prior to bereaking into Chemical Party). All GDG fans should get to know him so go log into iTunes and check out his songs; you'll get an idea of where some of his style comes from.

Being the first guy in line paid off and I was again wowed at such a great performance. His brother started off first with a set that was really good. Not fancy garbage he just walked out and laid it down. After Joey played we were all serenaded by Honey, Honey and finally Gavin stepped out...
He started off with Dancing Shoes and from there on out it was phenomenal. Notes were in tune and everyone really got into the show. The staff at the Park West were cheesy but no worries we still tore the place apart.
Köln - Cologne Germany is incredibly beautiful. I'm taking pictures as the suns rises. I put with the cold because it's worth it.

One of the best concerts I've seen.
