How Couldn't You Love Him?
The first Gavin DeGraw song I heard was Chariot, which of course is amazing. But the song that really got me hooked was A Change Is Gonna Come from the Chariot Stripped album. That album is now the most played one that I own. I can't pick a song that I dislike. I can't pick a song that is lacking. And I can't find any one point in the album where I doubt the true talent that Gavin DeGraw possesses. He has the most amazing, gorgeous, sexy, soulful, warm voice I have heard. His voice catches something in my heart. It is beyond my abilities to describe everything that makes the music so amazing, but it is. I can't imagine a day without being able to listen to the wonderful music of Gavin DeGraw.
The lyrics "Sometime the only way is jumpin', I hope you're not afraid of heights" are my favorite. They stick out to me, and I have never felt that touched by lyrics in a song before. It is a true philosophy to life, but for some reason, they make me happy. I think the message that even if something seems foreboding, it isn't, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Those words speak to me for personal reasons. But I also feel like they apply to love. My favorite episode of Gilmore Girls is I Jump, You Jump, Jack where Rory and Logan take a leap off the tower together. The lyrics in Meaning have the same definition to me: sometimes you have to take that leap for love (metaphorically or literally in the case of Rory). Those words make me feel warm inside and they let me know that if it is true love, I won't be afraid of the height.
My other reason for loving Gavin DeGraw is that I love singing to all of his music. (Although sometimes I have to sing an octave higher.) I know the words to all of the Chariot Stripped album songs. My dream that I will always carry with me is to sing with Gavin DeGraw. Meaning, Chemical Party (which is tied with Meaning to be my favorite), More Than Anyone, (Nice to Meet You) Anyway; God, really any song, I would sing it with him.
I have such admiration for vocal artists. So many artists these days have such synthesized music, music that is overly edited, music that takes no real talent to make.
I can't wait to see Gavin DeGraw July 3rd at Summerfest in Milwaukee! (I wish I could go to all of his concerts, but since I have just about... NO money I have to stick to the concerts close to home.)
Let me know if you want me on stage Gavin Smiling

This is exactly how i feel about him as well. Before my IPOD, i had to buy the Chariot CD 3 times because i played them each out to where i couldnt play them anymore. "Belief" Is my all time fav song, but i just recently added "untamed", "wait a minute sister", and "glass". I can just keep going as welll with all the songs i love. May 3, 2009 was the first time i saw him in concert and it was AMAZING!!! I get to see him again in myrtle beach with collective soul and i am totally excited. He deserves everything he gets because he is just that amazing and i just hope more and more will catch on to him.
