This album was a lot more mellow then 'Chariot' & 'Gavin DeGraw' but I loved it! Gavin you have a way of making any song "better"!! Keep em comin'!!! I can't wait for the next album.

I had heard a couple of Gavin's songs on the radio and what not, but I didn't really listen to his songs until my dad started driving their equipment truck. I really enjoyed 'Chariot' and 'Gavin DeGraw' and also took much pleasure into the new sounding of 'Free'. I was going to go to The House of Blues in Orlando a while ago when my dad told me to go see him live but it was too late. A concert at the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa would be really cool and would excite thousands of fans in the area. Very enjoyable music which is easy to relate to.

I was first attracted with his music when my cousin let me hear his song "belief" and i realllly realllly like it............ and then i began to ponder on his songs and i liked them so much......... realllly........ i hope i can get all of his albums here in my country...... huhu....... i like his music and voice........ so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I came to this country in 2006 and the first song i heard from the radio was "I don't wanna be" since the very first beginning i love it but never heard any other song until last month... Man i'm "koo koo" for your music. As a musician I know the importance of making good quality music at this time when u can only hear junk (sorry it is what it is). Sometimes you can find me at Central Park with my guitar on hand and my ipod playing and listening to your music... by the way i heard Joey's music and sounds terrific ( in a very good way). Congrats to you Guys...Love ya.

This work by Gavin Degraw is really good. It's a different sound than the other CD's he has done but it still sounds amazing. The lyrics are good. Everything about this CD is good. I can't wait for his next one!

I believe no one could ask for a better friend, or even possibly more. He has an excellent ear to listen, a heart of gold that cares. Best of all, he's always there when you need him, whether he is here or gone. He is a very talented musician/singer/songwriter that deserves much more than he has recieved. He is truely this womans dream come true. Forever You & Me...

I love the new style Gavin has gone with for FREE. His bluesy voice is really complimented with the laid back tempo of this album. I absolutely love "Waterfall" and "Dancing Shoes". I can't wait to hear more. Thank you Gavin for another wonderful album!!!

Inspiration at its finest... I can't get enough man... This is my favorite album to date... Its a given that every time that someone gets into my truck that one of your tracks is playing from one of your albums or maybe even a cover that you have done (A song for you). And not only do I get to enjoy singing along and listening to your tunes. But which ever girl it may be, that is hopping into the passengers seat, falls directly in love with you... i'll try to put on another CD to possibly get the attention of my temporary significant other, then I get told "Hey jackass, i like that song"... So you owe me in two ways... spreading your fan base to all these gorgeous southern girls... and all the girls whose attentions were not focused on me... ha ha... nah but really... this album is simplified in such a way that it is the purest yet... keep it up...

I love this album. I love them all, even the songs I've heard that he's not released yet, covers and all. I even love that silly "scene in a bar song"... I never skip over tracks when I'm listening. It's all moving. I can't wait 4 the sheet music book for Free. (Darn that Open D tuning on Indian Summer though!) I like standard tuning (just don't want 2 keep re-tuning). Gavin's style keeps changing, growing, he's really broad & dynamic musically, & that's cool w/me bcz I love a lot of different styles. What an awesome musician and singer! This album is beautiful! I first heard about Gavin through one of the contestants on American Idol (Matt Giraud, my favorite) and decided to check him out. I am very thankful I did! Gavin, you just gained another fan!

"Free" ABSOLUTELY, without a doubt, is the no. 1 album in my collection. Gavin always delivers, and his true talent shows in this collection of absolute genius. Sometimes we get used to the manufactured musicof today that when you actually listen to the raw, intimate side of this album its a bit of a shock. I certainly was not disappointed in this album and am so grateful that Gavin has stepped out of the boundaries of top 40 cookie cutter "hits" to bring us all back to what it really means to be in love with music. I've listened to Gavin's music for years however, this album has given me a greater appreciation for the singer/songwriter just wanting to break free from the mainstream. The only downside of this album is that it leaves me wanting so much more and the hope continues that Gavin will give us Canadians some of the "Free" experience. (i.e. Edmonton, AB )

I enjoyed every song on this new album but my favorites are "Waterfall", "Free", "Glass", "Lover be Strong", & "Get Lost." It was nice listening to music that you could tell was close to the artist's heart. I would recommend this to everyone that enjoys goosebumps while listening to music.

I got home today and was so happy to find a package through the post. I ordered this cd through amazon, and waited so long for this to arrive, so was so happy to see it arrive here.

Anyways, been listening to this cd on repeat a few times. I really really like this album, and I respect Gavin Degraw for producing this 'raw, compelling, organic, stripped, personal, emotional, inspirational' album. I have loved every single song that Gavin has released from the beginning, and Free is full of meaningful ones that I can listen to over and over again.

All of the songs are great, but my favourites so far are; Stay, Free, Dancing Shoes, Glass.

I would have liked to see a few more songs on this album, but aside from this, I recommend Free to any Gavin Degraw fan, musician, or any music lover in general. This guy deserves to be way high up in the charts, I'm sure every true Degraw fan would agree with me.

This is probably my favourite musician, and I play music myself, called 'SmokeySing.' We respect him so much and cover almost all of his songs. Thank you for your music. About three years ago I started to doubt love despite the fact that those who know me think of me as a hopeless romantic. The point is, I felt an abyssmal sense of loss and confusion for doubting the one thing that had always made sense to me. I heard "More thatn anyone" and I bought the Chariot-Stripped album. The music reminded me of what it felt like the first time I fell in love. Every album since than has felt like like a personal reminder of that feeling.
FREE has once again brought back that soothing feeling. This album is deeply personal and feels like every song was written with each fan in mind. I think "Glass" is my favorite song in this album.
So thank you brilliant, intuitive man for giving me a reason to continue to believe in love. Not the sappy romantic flick kind but rather the honest, raw, deep kind that I cannot live without.

This Album is one of a kind. There is no one that has the amount of passion that he has for music. Gavin is the only singer that I know that sings from his heart. His music is PURE GENIOUS!!! He is not only a great artist but he knows how to use his words in a poetic feel that many other artist have a hard time grasping in their whole careers. I saw him at an acoustic concert in Orlando, Fl in 2008 and I had tears in my eyes watching him from back stage. His raw material is so powerfull that it actually changes you. His new sound on this album is so inspiring and reminds of that acoustic concert. He plays the piano as if it was an extention of his fingers, it looks so easy for him. His guitar playing is so soothing as well. His music will live on for years to come I am sure of it. Many others that have heard his music I'm sure agree with me. He will go down in the record books forever!

The waiting was agony..........but then 31st March arrived and I downloaded Free (at last!). What can I say......My ipod has not played anything else since!! I absolutely love this album, raw, honest and full of feeling and emotion. Why Do The Men Stray and Mountains to Move brought tears to my eyes, I found them overwhelming. Stay and Free are utterly amazing. Your voice sounds more beautiful than ever, I simply love everything about it ♥♥

Another perfectly simple product... Every time a Gavin Degraw cd comes out, my other music begins to feel neglected. YOUR CD'S NEVER LEAVE THE PLAYER !!! From beginning to end (without feeling the need to skip songs as some other artists entail) I feel relaxed, enlightened, and inspired. As a singer myself, the rawness of the recordings on this album are truly felt with the heart. Your spirit shines through with every note you sing. Thank you for continuing to stay true to who you are and to the music you love. You really do have a gift to be desired.

I love your music to death! I actually used "Medicate the Kids" for a research paper in my educational psych class. In your album "Free", I can appreciate the simplicity of the songs and how they are not backed up with the bells and whistles recording studios add. On the other hand, how come the album is so small? I do feel this album has more of a message and feeling, and you can also hear your beautiful voice more clearly. Thanks for being original in the songs you write and how you sing them. You have some of the best lyrics and vocals..and it has been years since I have enjoyed someone for more then one or two songs. I wish I could express what some of your music means to me and my wonderful equal half.... We both love listening to your songs. My love and myself... will get to see you again in Charlotte NC this May 2009.....It was back in 2005 (winston salem NC) we got to listen/see you perform for the first time. BACK to your NEW FREE CD.....what I have been able to listen to this morning has been fantastic....GAVIN I feel and this is only my opinion...but this CD sounds like you really have COME Home to your HEART...the heart of what you want to do with words and music and vocals. I liked your first CD and love the stripped version even more........your second CD was good.... but must say I enjoy it better when BB finds me some of the songs in a stripped down version.....
