I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...

Gavin DeGraw writes true, soulful music. When I first heard Gavin I was driving around with my best friend Marissa and I popped in his cd. I honestly couldn't remember any other artist when I heard the music of Gavin DeGraw that day. It was like an instant connection! I got tickets to see Gavin DeGraw when he opened for Dave Mathews about two years ago. It was hilarious because my friend Marissa and I only went to see Dave Mathews because Gavin DeGraw was the opener. I mean (don't get me wrong) I love Dave Mathews but I love Gavin more. After Gavin got done singing he laughed and said to the audience "if you want to meet me in a bit, come to the back of the stadium." We had no idea if he was just joking or if he was serious. The Target Center in Minneapolis is HUGE so Marissa and I started running. I swear I thought I was Forrest Gump! We ran until we found the place Gavin was going to set up to sign autographs....and we had gotten so worked up we had forgotten to buy tshirts for him to sign. So we RAN to the whole other side of the stadium to get t-shirts and came back and there was a HUGE line. Sneaky little me came up with the perfect idea....which might sound kind of strange...but we were not going to let the other people get to meet him without us meeting him too! So we casually started talking to people in the line and snuck our way up to the front. It was insane how nice people were because they noticed we were die-hard fans. It is not like we are the crazy "posters all over the room" kind of girls....we just love his music. It happened to be that Gavin only had time for about 20 autographs and we were the lucky last two that got in. To this day my girlfriend will never forget when Gavin commented to me that he thought I was very cute. I can't wait to re-live this moment again when I see Gavin on March 7th in Minneapolis. I just registered for the "soundcheck contest" ....hopefully everyone can see how big of a fan I am. Not just because he is ridiculously good looking...but for his TALENT...and his love of music.
