Shows with age restrictions are stupid!

and useless.
im not there for the drinks im there for the music.
am i the only one that finds this topic totally unfair? im not a teeniebopper, i dont scream during guitar solos, i dont scream for example "gavin have my baby", im just a huge fan that wants to see people perform.
and it sucks that i will be home saturday march 1st while everyone else in boston is having a grand old time (including my brother) at the paradise rock club seeing a show that i have waited two years for(last time i saw gavin was endicott in 05).
and im not trying to wine because i have seen gavin numerous times but it still sucks that the one thing i enjoy(music) i dont get to go to.
i feel these shows are unfair in general not just because of this gavin show but that i have to miss the sixers showsand joey degraw(everytime he is in boston) and marc broussard and a whole lot of artists.
you could draw a huge X aross my face if you want if the hands arnt enough.
sorry just venting as this show becomes closer and it sets in that i wont be able to see him in probably one of the most intimate venues around.
and im still a year away from 18+ shows.

Ehh...well, on the flip side of things...I'm 26 now and can appreciate getting sh!t-faced at a concert in peace without dealing with those younger people who shriek every time the dude blinks. Haha. But, yeah...that would be frustrating if I were under 21..In fact, I was at his show last weekend @ Univ. of Texas...and thank the good lawd above that I don't look 26, because I would have stuck out like a sore thumb if I looked my age. Let's have a moment of silence for the underrated power of Texas Longhorn hoodies, cargo shorts, and flip flops...Can I get an AMEN?

I totally agree. Age limits are stupid! When Gavin was giving a concert in Sweden on June, 4th, I couldn't go because of that stupid 20+ limit. And since I was only 15 it would have been impossible for me to even try to get in. Luckily, he's coming again, but I didn't know that back then. Age limits suck!! O___O

I agree, and it seems pretty unlogical to me because these places want to make a lot of money on people buying beer and stuff, but they would make a whole lot of more money if they'd just allow all ages to enter, they'd sell more tickets right? I don't know what they're thinking. Oh well, it is what it is...

I also think that its not fair to have the age restrictions on certain shows. I've never been turned away from a show because of it, even though I'm only 17. Usually the shows around where I live are at the two places that I go to at least 3 times/ month, so the people know me enough to know that I'm not going to go and do something stupid.

That was my problem for years! I was never able to go to his shows because they were always at over 21 places. I finally got the chance to one with no age restriction in Ventura, CA. So its okay, you'll get your chance too!

I could not agree more with you! Could'nt said it better myself. Its so stupid. Ive never seen him live even though he has been to Norway before ( but then ofcourse all of the shows exept from one you had to 18 to get in.) I just wish those stupid people that make these things could understand that were not going ro ruin the venue only cause were underage. Im 16, so im a bit younger than you, but im just like you in when you say that youre not going to screm " I wanna have youre babies" and stuff like that. And I thinks there is a lot of teens like us out there. Were underage,- not stupid. I hate age restrictions at conserts, it makes me so mad! And i have too missed out on a whole lot of conserts cause of my age. Its so annoying!
