I'm a fan (and you should be too) because... Just like the rest of humanity, I heard "I Don't Wanna Be" on the radio and thought, "Wow, who's that? He's really good... good lyrics, good music, great voice! I need to check him out." So I did just that. I did some searching online, heard a few more songs, and got myself a new favorite CD.
Not long after I started listening to Chariot, I was working at a radio station, and who comes in for a live performance? Gavin DeFreakinGraw! I was so excited, and what made it so much better was that he was an absolute doll! He was so nice, and down to earth, and actually just hung out and talked to everybody. He mingled with fans that came to the station, and signed a CD for me. The next night was his show, and I got a pair of tickets to check it out. If I wasn't a super fan already, I was from that point on. The live show was outrageous! The whole crowd was so into it, and it was by far one of the best shows I have ever been to. (And I've been to A LOT of shows.)
So, if you're not a fan... you have no idea what you're missing.
Four Years and Counting
There are only a few CDs out there that you can listen to over an extended period of time, and they don't lose that excitement and the validity that they had when you bought them. They are timeless, and you catch yourself missing them if they are out of your CD player for too long... A few that are on the top of my head are "Jagged Little Pill" by Alanis Morissette, "Bad" by Michael Jackson, :Genius Loves Company" by Ray Charles, and "Chariot - Stripped" by Gavin DeGraw.
