Gavin is one of those rare real artists. For example, when writing lyrics for his new album, he asked his fans opinions. How often do you hear of that happening? He's all about the fans and that's just awesome.
I had the amazing chance to meet him before his soundcheck one day and he stood talking to myself and three other people for an hour about anything and everything. It didn't seem to phase him that he may get mobbed, he was just having a normal conversation. What musicians he was into, why a certain song got to him (which even caused him to belt out a bit of it).
And if none of this is good enough for you, the music should be. It's just feel good music, and some way or another you're bound to find some sort of connection to him and the music.
SO SO SO SO SO GOOD
I was lucky enough to be one of the soundcheck winners, so I was really excited to go. When we got there, Gavin said that he wasn't feeling well, and he needed to save his voice. We got to hear him play George Jones "Bartender Blues" and "Chariot". George Jones' song was absolutely beautiful. Afterwards, we got to talk to him for a few minutes, and he really is a nice guy.
